However, as an ice cream and fro yo freak of sorts, I feel obliged to parade the many accolades in defense of the creamy delicacies. Ice cream brings people together! Remember the ice cream social? What with all the tapas and wine nights, the ice cream party has gone by the wayside. Ice cream isn't for the last day of 4th grade or a consolation after you played kinda sucky in your last softball game... it's for now! It's for you!
My best suggestions are Ben&Jerry's half baked and Phish Food. The latter is like an uber rich rocky road, sans nuts (big plus in my book), plus caramel swirls and fishy shaped death-by-chocolate fudge chunks. The former is a lighter choc/vanilla swirly goodness with brownie and cookie dough chunks*. These two flaves are in a tie for my top faves, but half baked could be winning by a nose considering they have a Low Fat option (good for those multiple pint weeks).
I love Ben&Jerry's not only because their jam-packed flavors are so scrumptious, unique, and gosh darn fun to say (Mission to Marzipan!!), but they are kind to our Dear Mother Earth. Oh, and if you're bored at work or at home, you can also go here to play a fun game with the fudge fishies from Phish Food. I smiled and I laughed. Isn't it fun to be a Significant Other??
So who wants to have an ice cream social? This chillaxed event could work wonders on a weekend before a shelf (if your SO is a med student) or the next time your SO is on call. And the only thing more fun than eating ice cream is eating ice cream among friends. Or maybe, mixing it with some Bailey's. Who's with me???

Can you say Fluffernutter Fudge?
