The Inner Sanctum

Gannon was on call on the last day of his USC externship, but was superhuman enough to leave straight from his 30-hour shift to head to San Diego (via train) in time for our marriage preparation meeting at 1:00pm.  To be honest, I felt forewarned that he could either slip into one of those coma dazes from lack of sleep or perhaps take advantage of the possibly that he could be declared legally insane.  People, I swear to you, he hardly even blinked during the entire hour!  *Tear*  So proud...

To reward his awesomeness (and cause we do this every time he comes over), we put together a slam bang bbq turkey dinner with all the fixin's.  After his nap, we settled into our dining room - the backdrop for our finest dinners and some of my best memories from every happy family occasion for the past 23 years - to a meal for the ages.  This isn't the best photo, but it shows how I set the table with the plates I shopped home from my trip to Italy, the wine glasses my parents got on their wedding, our tall-backed chairs, and splash of our backyard.  Consider yourself in the inner sanctum.
