To Market, To Market

A week before Halloween, I tripped over to Hillcrest for what is likely the best Farmer's Market in San Diego.  I got the idea from happy lady who suggested some hard-to-find thai cakes; plus, Giselle, my sister almost for real-real, is currently in Thailand, so I sought out the edibles to get a taste of her street snacks.

Sadly, the thai treats were just sold out, but I did score some squash and these beauties.  I have no idea what these sunflower hybrids are called, but aren't they stunning?

PS. I couldn't help but snap a photo of this li'l elmo at the market.  It was still a week before Halloween, and so freakishly hot that day, but I'm sure his parents couldn't have ripped that fur off him for all the lollipops in the world.  Don't we all remember that feeling of having a costume you wish was a second skin?
